Aboyne and deeside festival 2008

Strathdee Music Club is associated with two major musical events during this year's Aboyne and Deeside Festival:

Leland Chen and John Lenehan
On Saturday 5th July, Leland Chen and John Lenehan will be giving a violin and piano recital in the Deeside Theatre, starting at 7:30pm. Both these outstanding artists are well-known to Deeside audiences, and we are delighted to welcome them back again for this concert. Their programme will include the following:

Leclair: Violin Sonata in D major Op.9 no.3
Beethoven: Sonata in F for piano and violin, Op.24 'Spring'
Bartok: Romanian Dances
Mendelssohn: 'On wings of song' (arr. Heifetz)
R Strauss: Sonata in E flat for violin and piano

Scottish Chamber Orchestra Winds
On Thursday 17th July, the Wind Section of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra will give a concert in the Deeside Theatre, starting at 8:00pm. The programme will include the following works:

Gervaise: Two French Renaissance Dances
Weber: Overture, Euryanthe
Gounod: Petite Symphonie
Rossini: Overture, the Barber of Seville
Hummel: Octet-Partita
